Eve-Olution – a Women’s Initiation – What are we seeking and how to come Home.

This wonderful weekend of immersion into the truth of who we are as women, began many years ago [in the last century tee hee] when I undertook my own women’s initiation with a wonderful old Zulu Shaman, M’Bali and her sister.

It is a rite of passage long forgotten in the west and even as I undertook it I wondered what it would bring as I was already a woman surely? I had three children of my own, a successful career – what could, what was ostensibly a puberty rite, have to offer me.

The process was evocative and required me to access parts of myself that had not seen the light of day for many, many years and when it was over, what surprised me most powerfully, was the absence of the small things of childhood. The petty hanging on to old wounds and suspicions and anxieties. A new journey had begun, free of things that until that moment – I did not even know had bound me.

As my own work and training in psychotherapy, shamanism, transpersonal paradigms and all other things, took me far beyond the ego, and the deeper facets of my psyche unfolded – so did what I bring to this workshop.

For many years now we have held this event in a place of exquisite beauty in nature in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. Each time we come back to this land our connection with it is deeper and more heart felt and we are welcomed in body and spirit and held in the heart of the place.each moment is a deepening into self

Each year it evolves with the energies of the time and each year has been building steadily to this year, this fateful year in destiny, prophecy, astronomy and astrology, physics and math to which we have all been moving all the days of our existence.

We are here, now and this year excites me for the sheer joy of the shifts available to all.

As the women arrive they are immersed in ceremony, ritual, art work, clay work, meditation, walking the myth of the land, sharing, song and dance, all designed to peel back the layers of the story that binds us until we discover who we were born to be, in the moment, in the body – without story.

For the story of what it is, what women are allowed to be, has been handed down generation after generation, despite all the efforts of feminism, modernism and the new age. It is deeply unconscious and is laid down so effectively by the time we are four years of age, by well meaning, well intentioned parents, [who had the same thing done to them - back through the generations ad nauseam] that by the time we are seven we have left our bodies and entered our minds for a life time of guilt, shame and inadequacy.

We have stopped living in the moment and in our minds dwell in the past in guilt and shame for what we have done wrong and/or in the future worrying about what will go wrong again.

These are not our stories! These are the stories that were created to keep women small, in their place, to not shine, to not draw attention to ourselves in a world when it was dangerous to simply be a woman. As it still is in many parts of the world, where women are stoned for being raped, killed in ‘honour’ killings and tortured as witches or healers.

In the face of these stories and the punishment or withdrawal of love that occurs when we try to be ourselves outside of this unconscious doctrine, we take those beautiful shiny parts of ourselves and bury them deep in the shadow world. And there they remain, becoming evident in our dreams, longings and yearnings for a better way. We create a false self, riddled with anxieties, living lost and empty lives despite all our accumulation of things and strivings – to be ‘enough’!

On this magical retreat we peel off the layers of the onion. We strip back the masks of the false self and allow the truth of ourselves to emerge. To allow the possibilities we were born with and which have haunted our days to arise for integration with all that we are. For renewal, transformation and rebirth.

This magical time predicted throughout the mysteries and ancient doctrines is here and we are a part of it. It is all and simply about the return of the true feminine to balance on the earth and within each of us.

Because of this years possibilities we are utilising sacred geometry, harmonic tones and overtones in the journey, that move to opening windows of access to much larger parts of ourselves.
