Welcome to Zomate: The Future of Social Networking

Whether we realize it or not, we are living through a transformation into a mobile communication world.   As the quality of the present day network technologies continue to improve, there has been a focus to increase the capabilities of the new mobile gadgets which are being made available to the public.  For many of us, it may be unimaginable to think of a world without mobile technology and even those who try to avoid it, can’t ignore its evolution and support to social networking.

As mobile users, we have access to a plethora of social networking apps which all have some similarities in their functionality and uses.   Soon to be released to the iPhone platform, is an exciting new social network application with features and foundations which have not yet been introduced to date by other applications.

Neilson and NM Incite 2012 Annual Social Media Report* highlights some interesting points regarding the use of social networks, and what to expect in the future.  “Social networks still dominate internet usage, with 20% of PC time and 30% of mobile time spent on them: over any other category of site”.  Usage of social networks is popular within the office “ People aged 25-34 are most likely to use social media in the office, with over half saying they do so”, but social network usage is even making its way into every aspect of individuals lives with, ‘Nearly a third of 18-24 year-olds use social media in the bathroom’.  It was also reported that 76% of people using social networks have positive feelings after use such as ‘excited, connected, energized and informed’.
