I'm not Opinionated...
Economics be damned. When the Girl is hot the AC goes down. Period. If it’s 90 degrees outside, it has got to be at least 73 degrees inside – 75 is just too warm. I understand it, although it may not seem that way, but I would rather be cold than hot any day or time of the week. I think most people would agree to that. I mean, you can always add something on but you don’t always have something to remove. My problem isn’t Her turning down the thermostat (although my dad never liked women touching that). Hell, my problem aint even the heat. My problem is me – knowing when to shut my mouth. Damn you, Astrology Gods! Deeming me to be the best and always right! I just had to be born an Aries didn’t I?
My mind knows too much for its own good. The only thing it doesn’t know is when to hit the mute button on my pie-hole. I mean, even with this very post I began on a righteous soapbox only to get five sentences in before realizing: SHUT UP! I’ve talked before about playing the right cards, well another poker saying comes to mind here: know when to show’um and know when to fold’um. Relationships and life for that matter are about picking your battles. A good general, a good boyfriend, or husband will know when to fight. When to go on the offensive, lay back, lay down, apologize, compliment, flank, do nothing, or use gorilla tactics. Life’s about survival. And strategy. But above all, happiness. And relationships are having enough patience to harness that happiness and to not be afraid or ashamed to exploit it.
Back to the matter that brought me here, the air conditioner. How much of a difference can or will 2 degrees show on an electric bill? It can’t be astronomical. And I know that. So why fuss about it? Because I know it will be a difference. And I have to state my facts. Now here’s a quick fun-fact about me, I’m a huge Thrift Store junkie. Some years past while perusing the Men’s T-shirts, I came across a red-T with black lettering on it. You know the type – get ya to stop, read, smile, maybe smirk (or roll your eyes). Well, here’s what it said:
I had to drop the George Washington on it and it’s still in my rotation to this day. Point being, it is very hard for me, and I’m sure others (I hope) to not put their two cents in. But I’m trying… one bitten tongue at a time.
